STUDENT VOICE MEETING DATES AND TIMES
Meeting Date Period School Council Training 21ST January 2011 Period 2 in the Hall Year Council Week Beginning 31/1/2011 TBC (TLR and SID) School Council Week Beginning 7/2/2011 TBC in Hall (KR) Committee Meetings will be once a half term dates will be emailed out to committee members by the Chair of the Committee and placed on Student Voice page on Fronter
As form representatives and committee members it is your responsibility to attend meetings
This half term the School Council will be looking the disco arrangements and ideas for comic relief
School Council News
School Council this term have focussed on the launch of FHS’ house system and reviewing of Curriculum Week.
Form Representatives and Year Council
All form representatives took part in training to be a ‘partner in learning,’ run by our local engagement officer in October of this year.
Our committees have been busy at work this term;
Healthy Schools Committee
Create an International Food Week for all pupils and is currently amending our school menu after consultation with staff, parents and peers
Environment Committee
Have made changes to your playground by introducing a quiet area with seating. More pat ball lines have been drawn and new pat ball walls have been put up. Seating in the main playground have been fixed. The Environment Committee also took part in the launch of FHS’ Garden Classroom
Teaching and Learning Committee
Have focussed on FHS’ global curriculum and how we can build international partnerships. They have also acted as a consultation body for your student planner
PSHE Committee
Have created a charity event timetable that will allow all pupils to take part in charity events during the year at FHS.
Health and Welfare Committee
Worked with members of staff in creating a set of playground rules
From January 2011 there will be a new
Sports Committee
set up please see Ms Walters or Ms Reeves for further information.
6th Form Committee
Facilities team
Have created and put into action a rota that ensures recycling of paper and other materials are taking place within the sixth form block. The team have also made changes to the sixth form café menu through consultation of Year 12 and 13 regarding preferences for food choices.
Admin team
Have also created and carried out a number of admin duties to help support the promotion of the school cricket nets and other events that have taken place in the sixth form.
Charity team
Have promoted and organised Christmas hampers that will be donated to the Go Terrace club in Southall and have supported the Wear It Pink Day for Breast Cancer Awareness.
Enrichment team
Have helped to support a variety of school events such as target setting days, the Year 11 options evening and the annual awards evening successfully.
All sixth formers had the pleasure of meeting Lord Young on his recent visit to the school where they were able to discuss current day politics.
Head Boy and Girl
The Head boy and Girl have been positive representatives of the school during Lord Young’s visit. The head boy and girl have also taken part a sixth form conference to discuss issues affecting sixth formers in most parts of the country.

Ealing Youth Consultation on the Future of Ealing
Our Head Boy, Girl and Deputies took part in a youth consultation event with other schools from the local area to discuss how Ealing could prepare for 2026.
